Surprisingly a popular location for viewing is under the bright light next to the promenade at the Bridge House outside the tourist information center. From this location the moon and the planets are visible very clearly through the eyepiece of the telescope . Although you may have seen photos of Jupiter and Saturn, actually seeing Saturn’s rings and the bands and moons of Jupiter with your own eyes through the telescope’s ocular is an unforgettable experience.
If you want to see DSO’s (deep space objects) you will have to travel a short distance out of town into the dark desert, From the dark sky sites “What’s Up” tours the black sky with you, examining star clusters, globular clusters, nebulae, double stars and far off galaxies . With the help of our amazing green laser we tour the constellations and asterisms of the seasons. Besides the amazing views through the eyepiece we sometimes mount a special video camera for views on a computer screen of things that are not visible in the same way through the human eye.
